I ARISE TODAY

I arise today!

I hear these words as I gently wake to consciousness this morning, the roar of the nearby stream resounding in my ears. Though still dark outside, I can hear the early morning song of the birds, their melodic chorus cascading through my sleep-enfolded body.

I arise today!

“Yes, but the sun hasn’t,” I replied. So I turned over in bed and pulled the covers back up, preparing to dreamily drift off for a bit longer.

I arise today!

What is this incessant call? I answer finally, and roll out of bed. I open the blinds and step out onto the balcony of my cabin. I take a deep breath, and greet the dawn.

I arise today!

This is not just about the body getting out of bed, but also about how the spirit leaps up to greet a new day. I muse on this thought, taking it even further. My Spirit rises up to greet the Divine in all creation, including ItSelf, seeing ItSelf reflected in the dawn, in the early shimmer in the air, the coolness of the early morning breezes, in the harmonies of the melodic birdsong chorus.

I arise today!

Yes, body, mind, and Spirit. I allow myself, each moment, to take a leap upwards and towards the Source of my being, coming into the Oneness of the Truth of All Life.

I arise today!

I arise today!

I arise today . . .

and

Be.

Something to Ponder:

҉ How do you greet each day? If not with joy, can you change your perceptions around it?

҉ Can you allow yourself to settle down into the breath and perhaps go into words of gratitude for whatever you can think of?

Something to Reflect On About the Breath:

I breathe in and expand. The feeling of allowing the breath to expand my heart.

I breathe, inhale the air, and allow the inner pulse, the inner radiance to emanate out, beyond the locks that were once placed upon my heart, the strictures I set as a seal to keep me safe.

I breathe . . . I free myself with and in the breath.

The locks break

They fall away.

I BREATHE . . .

Free to love, to sing, to dance, to dream again.

I breathe . . .

I pause . . .

I breathe . . .

I breathe . . .

I breathe . . .

I.

Breathe.
