The Path of the Sacred Warrior

The Beginning of a Journey

It was actually June 2, 1991, on a Sunday night at 7 pm in Jensen Beach, Florida, that I stood before 67 people and launched and pioneered my spiritual community.

It was an amazing and significant time in my life, and each year around this time in the summer, I dig deeper and I realise what an unforeseen level of commitment I have made in my life to be a difference maker.

The Realisation of a Lifelong Calling

In my coming out as a difference maker ready to live out loud, the night in 1991 went well and I headed home. For the first time in years, since I had the calling when I was five years old, I thought, Oh my… I got this message out of me that I have been carrying around for years… all this time.

And then I go, Oh no, I told them everything I know, and I have 26+ weeks to go.

From Joy to Humility

From great joy and release to sacred humility.

But the talk I did is the talk I did as a student, it’s the talk I did as an intern, and it's the talk I have been doing ever since.

The Idea Whose Time Has Come

Its premise goes like this…

There is one thing stronger than all the armies of the world, and that is an idea whose time has come.

Victor Hugo

This is where change comes… that is where enlightenment comes, that is where defining moments come from…

The idea which is longing to emerge within us.

The Evolution of a Difference Maker

As a difference maker, I believe we can continue throughout the course of our entire lives asking ourselves the same questions. However, I feel as a difference maker you develop such a level of maturity that you’re no longer attached to having answers that you are comfortable with. Most of my significant happenings were not comfortable ones.

Often, the answers we receive and the ponderings of what is mine to do are not the easy way, nor is it my way, but yet in the greater reality, it’s the highway. It’s the path that one must take on the highway for the highest consciousness to guide us.

The Power of Humility and Inclusivity

When we become self-righteous in our old box way of thinking, we are not difference makers. Difference makers delight in meeting trailblazers, celebrate when their students exceed them, and rejoice when new insights come from inside work. Difference makers are inclusive, not just to the human family but to all of life on the planet.

A Lesson from Shanti

While we were spending time in California the past three years, my wife and I had two dogs and a cat. In July, sadly, our oldest dog, Mystic, after two years of failing health, died. We were very sad and yet relieved for him because he had gone through so much to stay on the journey with us.

Our Yorkie Shanti started stepping up, and her energy was more engaged and more involved than it had been for a long time. By August, we were getting another dog, and when Hopper came home with us, Shanti closed down. She wouldn’t come to the door, she would not engage with us in any way, and I was very concerned about her, so I called an animal communicator, which we’ve been doing for the past twenty years, and I asked her to check in with Shanti and what was going on.

Shanti told her that she was very disappointed because Mystic had asked her to take care of us, and she thought that within those two or three months she had done a really great job and that no one had ever thanked her for what she had done.

So that afternoon, I took her into my office. I closed the door. I got down on the floor to be at eye level with her, and I told her that she had been amazing. I told her how grateful we were for those months she had stood by us and helped us walk through so much of our grief about Mystic and how grateful we were for the job she had done. I also reiterated to her moving forward that she would be the alpha of our home. As I looked into her eyes, she was crying. She knew she was honoured and acknowledged.

Shanti has been and will continue to be a difference maker in our family!

The Difference Maker's Path

This is the ongoing path of the difference maker: to honor, validate, and recognize the unique gifts in all living things, even though it may not be your way.

There are many of these stories in my life which have occurred without any coercion or manipulation, just the willingness to open my heart at a greater level.

The Courage to Stand Alone

Do not be willing to be a difference maker if you need people to like you or if you take to heart the many insecure people around you who want to hush you or laugh at how your soul is evolving.

We need difference makers who are bold, who do not need to be liked, who realize with great maturity that making a difference in public life is challenging, and yet it is so rewarding to carry the torch of light while practicing sacred humility.

The Einstein Story: A Lesson in Self-Knowledge

Einstein was once traveling from Princeton on a train when the conductor came down the aisle, punching the tickets of every passenger.

When he came to Einstein, Einstein reached into his vest pocket. He couldn't find his ticket, so he reached into his trouser pockets. It wasn't there.

He looked in his briefcase, but couldn't find it. Then he looked in the seat beside him. He still couldn't find it.

The conductor said, Dr. Einstein, I know who you are. We all know who you are. I'm sure you bought a ticket. Don't worry about it.

Einstein nodded appreciatively. The conductor continued down the aisle, punching tickets. As he was ready to move to the next car, he turned around and saw the great physicist down on his hands and knees looking under his seat for his ticket.

The conductor rushed back and said, Dr. Einstein, Dr. Einstein, don't worry, I know who you are; no problem. You don't need a ticket. I'm sure you bought one.

Einstein looked at him and said, Young man, I, too, know who I am. I'm not concerned with who I am. What I don't know is where I'm going.

Letting Go of the Need for Certainty

This is what it is all about, to know who you are and yet let go of the need to know where you are going.

A history maker, a difference maker says: BECAUSE I HAVE WALKED THROUGH ALL OF THIS...

Understanding the Journey

Because of all I have been through, I can be a great history maker because I understand the journey now. I'm not just copying a motivational speaker or following a new trend of popularity or copying the works of a teacher that I heard one time…

There is a clarity…that is how one idea can transform the world…and guess who the one idea is?

YOU.

The Moment of Truth

There is one thing stronger than all the armies of the world, and that is an idea whose time has come. You are and you have always been that idea. Every challenge, every joy, every sadness, every door that opened and every door that closed has prepared you for this moment.

Welcome to being a difference maker.

Once you come out, you’ll never go into hiding again.

The Path of the Sacred Warrior

The first chapter from my book, Being a Difference Maker, my gift to you.

Sacred Warrior: Living Truth

The sky is not the limit; it is just the beginning of the Sacred Warrior Path. We start in the East, with the strength of a mountain beneath us and an aerial view of the endless sky above. From here, we step into the present moment. We see farther, with greater distance, to gain a clearer perspective of our lives.

We understand that the mission is greater than our egos.

When we think of Sacred Warriors, we think of those who can communicate with presence and power, Gandhi, Mother Teresa, and Martin Luther King. Fearless spirits who have illuminated the darkest corners. Strong believers grounded in Truth, who changed the world through the kindness of their actions.

The Eagle guides us as we awaken a higher sense of spirituality and creativity. The color is white, a blank space, a fresh start, and a sacred light. The answers come easily, and we are able to work tirelessly to overcome the monumental challenges in our lives.

The Sacred Warrior is always driven by a necessity for change. Because we can see things in a new light, the changes we make on this path are permanent. Let me help you move beyond visibility to:

  • Reflect from a mystic point of view

  • Accelerate alchemy

  • Create meaningful change

The Sacred Warrior lives in the space of living truth out loud—not waiting for special occasions.

Presence

Ernest Holmes was a Sacred Warrior. He spoke what he believed, and the world benefited immensely. He once visited a well-known garden in California and, while experiencing the beauty around him, came upon a struggling little plant.

Ernest approached the groundskeeper and said, Hi, I am Ernest Holmes, where are the people in charge? The young man looked somewhat puzzled but pointed to the offices on the second floor. Ernest instructed him to get the individuals in management to come and see him.

A few minutes later, some men in suits and ties walked toward Ernest, and he said, Hi, I am Dr. Ernest Holmes, and I would like to know what you are doing about this little plant. The men appeared baffled but quickly responded by getting a water hose and some fertilizer to take care of the plant.

Once the work was done and the men left, Ernest went over to the little plant, knelt down, and said, I told you I would take care of you, didn’t I? The power of life is everywhere and in everything, plants, creatures, and all living beings. Ernest understood this. The intelligence of life is all around us, and as a Sacred Warrior, he changed people and circumstances at a profound level.

A Sacred Warrior is called to service in day-to-day life. More often than not, the Sacred Warrior is willing to speak what very few are willing to say. They possess a deep connection to the Divine and are no longer driven by a desire to fit into the norm or maintain the status quo.

Sacred Warrior: Energy is Key

Change your energy, and your life will change. It’s a simple truth. The easiest way to measure your beliefs in the power of this truth is to notice if you are feeling disconnected or drained, rather than energised or impassioned about your life.

The flow of life cannot reach you if you are blocked with layers of protection, a fixed attitude, or if you are unwilling to awaken so new energy can flow through you.

As long as you believe you are the producer of your own energy, you will often feel tired, weary, and that there is never enough. Of course, you play a significant role in creating and maintaining your energy, by getting proper rest and nutrition, but you are not the producer of your vibrant energy any more than you had to think about breathing before you took your first breath.

Do not compartmentalise your energy and believe that work takes a certain amount of energy, or being with children gives or takes your energy. We are not given energy rations each week with dominion over how they are used.

Sacred Warriors are so in tune with their purpose that energy continues to flow freely and unconditionally, without judgment or any sense of rationing. They can expend their energy selflessly, giving it away at every turn to whoever or whatever needs it in any given moment.

As a Sacred Warrior, you understand that you are an energised spirit of the Divine immersed in endless life. The more you affirm and value life, the more life affirms and values you. Allow this never-ending life energy to express through you in every situation, person, and circumstance you encounter today. Always share your highest, most energetic self in every encounter, without reservation.

Sacred Warrior: Life’s Assignment, Happiness.

French philosopher Pierre Teilhard de Chardin believed that we are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience. I would add that the more spiritual you become in your awareness, the more you are connected to your humanity. You embrace, at a deep level, the value of all of you, the thoughts, feelings, joy, and depth. You become totally comfortable with yourself. This is essential for being a Difference Maker.

Life is an ongoing journey of learning, but there is an arrival place, it’s called Happiness. With Happiness, you draw from the core of your being, which is produced and renewed from something much greater than who you are. Even though your life may take many twists and turns, the inner happiness you experience is non-negotiable. Behind each challenge, confrontation, or crisis, there is always present within you the inner knowing of joy.

Happiness frees us to be original. Being original leads to authenticity. Authenticity leads to acceptance. Acceptance leads to tolerance. Tolerance leads to connection. Connection leads to happiness. And happiness generates peace.

Sacred Warrior: The Clear Power of Manifestation

On the evening of the Harmonic Convergence, I was walking the beach with a friend. The sun had already set, and it was dark. I was taken aback when I saw a turtle emerging from the ocean with great intention to lay her eggs. She was the size of a small car's hood. Once we recovered from the shock, we witnessed an incredible experience. With a slight glow, we could see tears coming from her eyes.

Oddly enough, just a week before, a woman had shared with me the entire process a turtle goes through to lay her eggs. Little did I know, a week later, I would witness it firsthand.

Intrigued, I returned to the same spot, about a half-mile from our beach house, to see if I could find any more evidence of what had occurred the previous night. To my amazement, I found that a little boy had created a huge sand turtle. On some level, he too was energetically in tune with the presence of the turtle energy.

This is the strength of our energetic connection when we take all the moments in our lives and connect the dots, seeking the intertwined connection. Sacred Warriors live in the statement, This is why I am here, rather than Why am I here? A Sacred Warrior has the visionary ability to see how everything occurring around us has depth and meaning. Being a Difference Maker requires us to live fully and be attuned to the ability to connect the dots from one moment to another.

Being present allows us the space to see and experience the beauty of nature all around us.

Sacred Warrior: Is Prayer Being Stated or Being Heard?

Our beliefs and practices regarding prayer change many times throughout our lives. Reflecting on my journey with prayer, I am grateful to have learned, through metaphysics, a clear way to affirm, invoke, declare, and know. I left behind the teenager's way of praying and embraced Spiritual Mind Treatments from the teachings of Science of Mind. This shift transformed my way of asking or "begging" for divine intervention to one of creating modern-day miracles in my life.

Conclusion

I once thought of prayer as a new request, a new alignment with a greater truth or vision. I would energise the words of my heart into form and send that request forward into the energy field. But through the years, I've realised that prayer is a both/and reality. Yes, we expand our inner awareness with each prayer, but we also receive the energy of change and affirm,

I am saying yes.

For Sacred Warriors, prayers are statements to declare to the Universe:

Here I am, and I accept this time in my life. Count me in. I am ready to be a catalyst for change, and I am willing to be part of a world which works for everyone.
