Hi MiMi, I was watching a few of your Identity videos on [y]outube and I was very interested in learning more about this because my previous business coach told me that I spent way too much time doing instead of being and that was completely sabotaging my results.  She was really focused on who we're being determining success, but in a way that I wasn't really aligned, which was a lot of healing and energy work.  

 

It's not that I have a mindset problem or money blocks or any of that.  I have a 1 on health coaching business and I make between $90K and $115K a month consistently so I'm grateful.  I'm keen on just enjoying coaching 1 on 1, but I know I want to go to the next level with my income because I've got plans, and what I do is make money and then pull back.  I love just focusing on taking action, and I do the messaging, the content, all the strategies and I implement them, but 8 months in, I feel like I'm back where I started again.  And because my income hasn't really dipped beyond a level that scares me, I've been fine with it.  

 

But as I started watching your videos, one of the things you said kind of hit me right in the heart and had me thinking, yep that's me.  It was something about how women coaches, especially spiritual women coaches will go from $50K to $100K months and then self-sabotage back to $40K months so that they can rise from the ashes and have another comeback moment. My goal is really to attract my best high-end coaching clients and sell $250K coaching offers by the end of 2024.  But I don't even want to imagine that level yet.

 

I loved your question where you asked, I wrote it down because I laughed... what would be possible if we decided to go from good to great and multiply that every day, instead of playing comeback ping pong?  This my very long way of asking for a quick deep dive into how 'Identity and who were being' ties into client marketing, client attraction and enrollment?  One of my beliefs is that high-ticket sales involves complicated funnels, so I definitely sabotage my sales.   I'd love to hear from you.  Thanks MiMi, and merry Christmas to you and yours.  Sorry for the long explanation.

Thank you so much for sending your question in.  I appreciate you very much, and I love that you're asking about something so very close to my own heart, Identity-Being.

 

First, congratulations on your success with your health coaching business.  6-figure months with a private coaching offer is not the standard in the industry and I 100% applaud you for doing your business your way.  

 

Now on to your question.  I'll break this up into 5 parts.

 

Part ONE.  Who We're Being Determines Our Success

 

I actually 100% agree with your business coach that Identity is key.  

 

The thing is, who we're being does determine our success, and I look at Identity as the key that unlocks the offers, positioning, pricing, packaging, messaging, marketing and sales; especially messaging and content creation.

 

A lot of times we believe that the strategy, jumping right into action to implement someone else's genius or blueprint or parrot their messaging is key to a profitable and successful coaching business that's simple and sustainable.  But the truth is that for many coaches, it takes more than just the blueprints, formulas or proven strategies or actions.

 

It's WHO you're being about the action you're taking.  Who you're being determines whether you'll grow your income consistently, or in your case, keep recreating income plateaus.

 

What is your identity?  How you see yourself.  

 

And, this is important, do you know who you are, and do you know the value the transformation in your coaching offers – the future lifetime use value.  

 

And do you allow this to come through in your messaging and content so it’s an easy ‘yes, she’s talking to me’ recognition for your client?

 

 

Part TWO.  The Importance of Identity in Business

 

Who we’re being dictates what we believe and both the quality and the consistency of our actions.  One of my core values is Identity based on who God says we are, our I AM identity.

 

I consider us all brilliant, confident, well able, resourceful, complete, amazing, wise, divine, magical, talented, gifted, fully expressed, all of things.  

 

And as the I AM who God says I AM identity, I expand possibility in my business.  

 

Let's talk about you for a minute.  Whatever your Identity, ask yourself,

 

What do I believe to be true? what thoughts do I have about what I want to co-create in the world – my work, my offers, my messaging, my mission, my vision?

 

What do you believe, Penny?


What’s your identity?


And how does it tie into the results you expect with your work, your offers, your mission, your vision, your messaging and your marketing?

 

If you believe high-ticket sales means complicated sales funnels, then you probably won’t sell $100K coaching offers without a spending hours or money on a useless complicated high-ticket sales funnel.  

 

You might even believe that no one will invest in your coaching offers until you create that funnel.  So, you'll waste time waiting for the funnel instead of simply marketing and selling.

 

If on the other hand, you believe there are millions of ways high-end coaching clients can invest in themselves with your offers, you’ll be wise enough to know that you don’t need any of your high-end coaching to go through a complicated sales funnel for them to easily to invest in your offers.  

 

Especially if you've already sold your offers without complicated sales funnels in the past.  You already have evidence that this is not true.

 

Which means, you’ll create a simple high-end coaching client attraction plan that works for you. 

 

Perhaps it's just dialing-in and upleveling your content to speak directly to a potential health coaching client who prefers to work 1 on 1 in a private health coaching container, with a high-level coach who co-creates exponential results.  And without spending too much time and effort trying to fix problems that don't exist, tweak the content and messaging so that she recognizes you.  

 

And by that, I mean, she sees your message and knows it's for her because she gets the perceived value - the future lifetime use value to her.  If you've been watching my videos, you know how important this is for recognition.  It's a choice to be the identity of the coach who believes it's hard, or to choose to be the coach who knows it can be simpler.

 

Every action we take in our coaching businesses is tied to identity, especially when it comes to our pricing, marketing and sales strategies.  So, know who you are and what you believe.

 

I always ask clients, 

 

What do you believe? And what are you thinking about the things you think about? 

 

What are you thinking about messaging?  What are you thinking about high-ticket sales?  What are you thinking about pricing and charging the value of your work?  

 

What you're thinking about these things dictates your actions.  This is important because you decide the way you want things to be for you. Not God. Not your business coach. Not the online gurus. YOU.

 

 

Part THREE.  The Quality of Your Thoughts Influences How You Make Income Decisions and What You Do to Attract Your Best High-End Coaching Clients

 

Our thoughts are important. And I’m not talking slapping on positive thinking mask. I’m sure that’s important too. I mean the quality of our thoughts.

 

How we think about the things we’re thinking about affects us more than we know. 

 

What we believe about what we think about, and what we make it mean about us is the catalyst for 90% of the messaging and income decisions we make, as well as the marketing actions we take every day.

 

How Identity Affects Income Decisions

 

It’s the reason why I can work with 2 clients in Love Letters who both want to create a simple and profitable boutique coaching business, but because of what and how they think about money, one of them wants $500K months and the other wants a $500K year.   No right or wrong when it comes to what anyone desires.

 

The one who wants a $500K year has put $500K months on a pedestal and believes she has to put herself through a bunch of hoops first.  Swimming in those thoughts, she cannot even imagine why anyone would want to make $500K months before they first made X amount because of what she believes about money and what she thinks making $500K months means about her.

 

The woman who wants to make $500K months cannot understand why the other woman is playing so small. And why she is choosing to put herself through what she considers stair stepping first.  Same coaching program. 2 different ways to thinking about making money.  Neither are good or bad, or right or wrong.

 

They’re just beliefs and thoughts based on who they're being.

 

And we need to be aware of them when making any kind of decision, so we don’t set superficial ceilings based on our thoughts. Everything is a just a story. 

 

Create better stories by asking better questions.  This is the best way to STOP the kind of self-sabotage you described in your question.  

 

Do you have the thinking or the thoughts you need to have what you want? 

 

Whose thoughts and beliefs are you carrying around, adopting as yours and using to price your offers?

 

If you don’t switch those thoughts, you’ll never confidently sell when you raise the price to work with you. Because you’re still thinking those old, borrowed thoughts.

 

How Identity Affects Messaging and Marketing Decisions

 

Attracting your best high-end coaching clients into your coaching business is directly tied to Identity.

 

Who you believe you are and what you believe you’re worthy of receiving, and how attractive you believe your offers are based on stories you’ve collected along the way.

 

Who we're being shows up powerfully in our messaging and marketing.  It's the difference between focusing exclusively on how to attract high-end coaching clients or where to find high-end coaching clients or how to get coaching clients.

 

When you shift your identity from, 'I don't know how' to What if I'm the coach who knows, then you ask better questions like, what makes me attractive to my high-end coaching clients and how will she recognize me?

 

When you ask a question like what will make her recognize me or know I'm the one for her, you go from looking for clients like they're easter eggs to creating content and positioning your offers like to Lighthouse so that you BE FOUND.  

 

If your messaging is not aligned because of what you're thinking about sales or messaging or marketing, or even pricing, then it doesn't matter how many strategies to implement to attract high-end coaching clients.  They won't recognize you and they won't find you because they're not aligned with the words you're using or how you're saying it.

 

You'll attract clients you're not in love with and then you'll self-sabotage because subconsciously you're not happy who you're working with and what you're doing with them. 

 

Focusing on identity supports you at the subconscious level, which is important for high-ticket sales conversations.  After all, they're sitting with your subconscious energy whether you realize it or not.

 

It's a potent value-driven shift where you're in control of choosing WHO finds you, instead of just attracting clients who are not your best high-end coaching clients but have money to pay you.  

 

You want high-end coaching clients who want the exponential transformation and know the value, not high-paying coaching clients who just want to throw money at you.

 

Do you see how Identity affects every decision in your business, and how who you're being sets the stage for sustainable income growth, instead of just the ping pong?  

 

When you shift your beliefs, you create a foundation for compounding what's already working great and go from good to great every day. 

 

You create the identity of the woman who grows and lose the woman who needs to create 'rise from the ashes moments.'  No more self-sabotage.  No more income plateaus.

 

Part FOUR. Shifting Income Plateaus

 

We don’t get off income plateaus by implementing a new strategy. We simply shift who we’re being and go from there. 

 

When we shift who we we’re being, what we believe and what we think changes. Our perspective shifts toward exponential possibility.

 

This is why we grow and expand when we invest in long-term committed high-end coaching programs. 2 months into a 6 month or 12 month coaching program, we realize our original vision was too small. Our perspective has shifted.

 

The thing that used to be too hard becomes our new comfort zone. And our personal experience with this is what supports us to hold BIG space for our own high-end coaching clients so that they know without a doubt they can co-create the exponential outcome or result they want, eliminating any and all sales objections to our high-ticket coaching offers.

 

Everything we do, think and believe affects high-ticket sales, even if we’ve bought the best high-ticket sales script ever. It always all comes back to what you’re thinking about the thing you’re thinking about.

 

Identity precludes systems and more strategies. You don’t need a new system to sell a $250K high-ticket coaching offer today.

 

We’re not paid based on our knowledge or how much we know.

 

We’re paid based on who we’re being.

 

Create better stories about your income, and ways to grow a sustainable consistent income.

 

The only reason you haven’t attracted a high-end coaching client willing to invest in your $250K high-end coaching package is because you haven’t trusted yourself enough to make a $250K offer to anyone yet. Probably because of what you’re thinking now about what making a $250K offer means.

 

When you’re willing to be the woman who sees and recognizes herself as the woman who sells $250K offers, you’ll love yourself enough to make the offer and get paid at that level. And you’ll attract those best high-end coaching clients.

 

Because you don’t need to have already sold $250K coaching offers to be the coach who attracts her best high-end coaching clients who invest in $250K offers or any amount offers. The PRICE is irrelevant. It’s the thoughts about it that matter.   And of course, potent messaging and content.

 

Do you have the thinking you need to attract your best high-end coaching clients today?

 

You simply need to decide to commit to making that offer now. It’s a being. Know who you’re being.

 

Part FIVE.  Identity Touches All the Little Things that Eventually Add Up into the Big Things in Your Client Attraction Strategies

 

Moving back to the Identity path, I invite you to ask yourself, who you're deciding to be starting now and what are I committed to?   And then start practicing making decisions from that place.

 

Based on this new identity, ask yourself, how do I show up in the world, what do I do, who do I work with, what do I offer, what messaging do I share, what words do I use, what decisions do I make and how do I live my life?

 

You decide when you’ll become the next level of you. Your being must be absolutely certain you’re doing this. It’s your way of being. It’s a decision.

 

You get to decide this now and it as the Lighthouse that gently pulls you home to your power every time you start looking for God outside of you. 

 

It’s not important how far away you are from your I AM identity, whether it’s I AM a powerful coach or I AM a prosperous coach, whatever your I AM is here to be, do and create.

 

Go Inside - Every Little Thing Adds Up

 

Consider making decisions in your heart and not your head to start living and embodying I AM.

 

Use this to understand and clarify what’s most important to focus on in your business so that you create more time freedom, more creative freedom, more financial freedom and more of whatever lights you up.

 

How does your I AM identity do things? Does she stay in busy-ness and overwhelm? Does she put herself in a box and limit how much money she makes? 

 

Look at your own business, Penny.  What are you tolerating? Does she tolerate that?

 

What goes on her calendar? How much white space does she enjoy on her calendar? What things does she do every single day?

 

Look at your own calendar. What’s not on there that needs to be on there? (Sales calls???). What’s on there that doesn’t need to be on there?

 

What top 3 profit and impact-driven things do you focusing on every day so that you attract your best high-end coaching clients?

 

What does she say about herself? Who God says she is? Where are you saying what God doesn’t say about you? What do you believe about you that God doesn’t believe about you? Are you standing in the truth of your power to create loving boundaries that support you to thrive at your highest level?

 

What does exquisite self-care (Spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, wellbeing) look like for her? How does she teach her body to hold the future and live in her future reality now?

 

This Identity shift goes deeper than just making more money in your coaching business. It changes who you’re being in your life, your relationships, and impacts every single thing you do every day.

 

Be the woman who does the thing, and simply do it.

 

Slow down and give yourself the grace to run God’s given race at your own pace.
